Holo Holo Ka’a means to go out on the car.  Create your own tour by selecting from a variety of destinations.  With the help of an expert guide you’ll be able to visit the places that you’ve always wanted to see.  You may choose from any of the following destinations or add some of your own.

USS Arizona Memorial or Swap Meet (Flea Market)
7:00 am – 1:00 pm

ArizonaOn this excursion you’ll have a choice of touring the USS Arizona or picking up a few Hawaiian treasures at the Aloha Stadium Swap Meet to take to family and friends back home.
The Aloha Stadium Swap Meet is the largest flea market in the islands where you can find everything from Hawaiian shirts to tropical plants and native foods. You’ll catch the sights and sounds of local vendors who circle the stadium to sell their wares under tents.
On your visit to the USS Arizona Memorial you’ll learn about the events that triggered the entry of the United States into World War II. After a short film, you’ll ride a small motor launch piloted by the U.S. Navy to the memorial which spans the mid-portion of the sunken battleship.

Ali’i Tour
1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Take a memorable tour with Chief Sielu who will introduce you to the art of fire making, coconut husking and the joy of living in Polynesia. Your tour includes a ride reminiscent of Jurassic Park where you’ll see the set locations for many Hollywood and TV productions such as 50 First Dates, Lost, Tears of the Sun, and most recently, “Me, You, and Dupree.” The “Jurassic Park” bus will also take you through a botanical garden where you’ll see the various plant species that are indigent to the area as well as those that were brought in by foreigners. The final portion of the tour will take you on a motor launch in the ancient Moli’i fishpond where you’ll learn how the Hawaiians would utilize the ocean and land to maintain the intricate eco-balance of our island home. Tour includes entrance fees.

Circle Island Tour

8:00 am – 4:00 pm
UkeleThis circle island tour will give you a glimpse of much of the natural beauty of Oahu. You’ll cruise by Mokoli’i Island otherwise known as Chinaman’s hat and then spend some restful moments at the beautiful Byodo-In temple. This replica of the actual Temple in Uji, Japan is surrounded by a two acre reflection pool filled with Japanese carp or “koi” and the gardens are the largest of its kind outside of Japan. As you travel down the coastline, your guide will teach you about the history and colorful legends of our island. You’ll enjoy the breathtaking views from the Pali (cliff) where historians say King Kamehameha conquered his final opponent to gather all of the islands under his rule. We’ll take you through Waikiki, past Diamond Head and around to see the blowhole and the beautiful Waimanalo coast. We’ll also stop for a lunch of your choosing at any one of our favorite local eats in the area. Tour includes entrance fees.

Iolani Palace/City Tour

8:00 am – 2:00 pm
IolaniIolani Palace was the official residence of the Hawaiian Kingdom's last two monarchs -- King Kalakaua, who built the Palace in 1882, and his sister and successor, Queen Lili`uokalani. During the monarchy period, the Palace was the center of social and political activity in the Kingdom of Hawai`i. On your docent led tour of this National Historic Landmark you’ll enjoy one of the most precise historic restorations and learn much about Hawaiian history and heritage. After the Palace Tour, our guide will take you to see the Aloha Tower, Chinatown, and the Punchbowl National Cemetery.

Surf and Turf Farm Tour
9:00am – 2:00pm

Shave IceTake a journey through time as you learn how Hawaiians would farm anciently and how we farm today.  At our “Kahuku” farms you’ll taste test the tropical fruits of the season which may include bananas, papayas and fresh “Kahuku” watermelon that is renowned for its crisp sweet flavor.  You’ll also be able to learn about the plants and flowers that are shipped overseas, their growing season and the challenges that local farmers have in farming in a tropical climate.  One of the highlights of the day will be when you board your “Adventure Bus” and take a tour of the lush Kualoa Gardens nestled in the foothills of the Koolau Mountain Range.  Your guide will teach you the many ways that fruits and nuts grown in Hawaii were used anciently as food, medicine, tools and shelter.  You’ll then enjoy our ocean breeze from a boat in the Moli’i fishpond where you’ll learn how the Hawaiians have protected, replenished, and harvested fish for over 800 years.  Our final stop will be at Romy’s famous shrimp truck where you’ll lunch on their fresh farm-raised shrimp. Romy’s hatchery stocks 60 fresh water ponds, harvesting shrimp, sunfish and prawns.  This tour will demonstrate the intricate ways that the people of Hawaii have learned to balance their unique eco-system to sustain life.

Dole Pineapple Plantation

pineappleThis tour will give you a “true taste” of our North Shore hospitality.  Enjoy a leisurely drive along the North Shore of Oahu to see the world famous surfing beaches of Sunset, Waimea and the Pipeline.   Our first stop will be at the Dole Pineapple Plantation where you’ll board the Pineapple Express.  On this two-mile 20 minute narrated train tour you’ll learn about the history of pineapple and hear the story of James Dole, who pioneered the pineapple industry in Hawaii.  We’ll continue on to the historical town of Haleiwa and stop to sample the world famous “Matsumoto’s Shave Ice”.  You’ll have some time to browse through the quaint shops in Haleiwa where “surf” fever is contagious and then lunch at Haleiwa Joe’s where you’ll be able to sit back, relax, and enjoy the ambiance of Haleiwa Harbor.

Waimea Falls Park

WaimeaFor the more adventurous, Island Transporter guides will substitute a visit to Waimea Falls Park for the Dole Plantation segment.  Waimea Falls Park is a nature lover’s paradise where you’ll be able to wander through lush tropical vegetation to reach the falls.   A nearby arboretum holds over 5,000 varieties of plants.  After your hike, we’ll continue on to Haleiwa for lunch and shopping.

Polynesian Cultural Center

Polyneisan Cultural CenterThis exciting package features a full day of activities beginning at Dole Plantation where you will be able to sample the world’s sweetest pineapple.   Next stop will be the historical town of Haleiwa where you’ll be able to browse through quaint shops and sample the famous “Matsumoto” Shave Ice.  This refreshing treat is a local favorite.  Next we’ll go to Romy’s  famous shrimp truck where you’ll lunch on their fresh farm-raised shrimp. Romy’s hatchery stocks 60 fresh water ponds, harvesting shrimp, sunfish and prawns daily.  Our final stop will be at the Polynesian Cultural Center for an educational journey to  the islands of Polynesia.  Your fun filled afternoon will be packed with Polynesian games, entertainment and laughter taught “island” style.  This complete tour will combine the most educational and enjoyable sites on the North Shore and will leave you with lasting memories of Hawaii.
